Abstract
Description
The invention relates to verification tools for ultrasonic flow meters and can be used to verify or calibrate pulse-frequency flow meters.
- не используется электроакустический канал преобразования расхода для поверки полного комплекта расходомера (датчика и измерительного блока);
A device for calibrating ultrasonic flow meters is known, comprising a flow simulating unit configured to be connected between an electro-acoustic signal transducer and an electronic measuring unit of a flow meter (US Patent No. 4,729,247, class G 01 F 25/10, 1988). In technical essence and the achieved positive effect, this solution is close to the proposed one and is taken as a prototype. The prototype has disadvantages:
- the electro-acoustic flow conversion channel is not used to verify the complete set of the flow meter (sensor and measuring unit);
- there is no way to apply to adjust the frequency-pulse flow meters due to the different principle of signal formation.
The aim of the invention is to expand the scope and functionality.
This goal is achieved in that the flow simulation unit is made in the form of a parallel-connected switch and a delay line, while the control input of the switch is connected to an electronic measuring unit. The proposed device uses a working set of a flow meter that works on the acoustic channel of the flow transducer. Moreover, the signal modification circuit transmits signals both from its input to the output, and vice versa. In this case, the receiving signal is delayed in time by an amount adequate to the signal delay in the acoustic channel of the flow transducer caused by the movement of the medium flow.

6. In the circuit of the simulation device of FIG. 3, a semiconductor switching diode is used as a switching element. Another variant of it is shown in Fig. 4, where a set of delay lines is used, switched by the P-1 switch, to obtain several signal delay values. Moreover, the switching element is supplemented by a
In FIG. Figure 5 shows the practical design of the simulation device that is easily interfaced with the coaxial line of communication of the electronic measuring unit 1 (secondary device) with the
The device operates as follows.
In pulse-frequency ultrasonic flow meters, ultrasonic pulses propagate in the flow of the measured medium in opposite directions, forming simultaneously working synchro rings along the flow, the measured medium and against it. In the absence of movement of the measured medium, the frequencies of the synchro rings are determined by the speed of ultrasound in the medium and are adequate to each other. When the medium moves in the plane of installation of electro-acoustic transducers, the frequency of the synchro-ring operating in the flow increases, and against the flow decreases, since the speed of the medium develops with opposite signs with the speed of ultrasound in it. Thus, the frequency difference of the synchro-rings is a function of the flow rate of the medium being measured, which, with the flow cross section unchanged, is a function of flow rate.
If, with the medium being measured, the signal propagating in the direction of the intended flow is reduced, and the signal propagation time is reduced and increased in the opposite direction, this will cause the appearance of a frequency difference of the synchro rings, which is adequate to the frequency difference caused by the presence of a moving stream. The operation of the proposed device for checking pulse-frequency flow meters is based on this principle. An electric pulse exciting the receiving-emitting transducer of the ring downstream, propagating from the input of the
Thus, in the propagation chain of the signal in the opposite direction to the flow, a delay of the signal appears, simulating the delay from the movement of the measured medium. The amount of delay is controlled by changing the parameters of the delay line.
Since the exciting and received signals have different characteristics, it is possible to control the switch from the exciting signal supplied to it. In the simplest case, a semiconductor diode is used as a switch, the polarity of the inclusion of which corresponds to the polarity of the exciting pulse, i.e., the exciting pulse having an amplitude of units of volts passes through diode 4, and the received signal, the amplitude of which does not exceed hundreds of millivolts (i.e. the diode enable threshold), passes through the
The switch can be made according to any other well-known scheme, for example, on unipolar transistors and supplemented by a
G 01 F 25/00, 1988. The delay line may have one or more signal delay values. Several delay lines can be used with the appropriate switches or build them according to the principle of a delay store.
