A method for determining the thickness of the stromal bed of the cornea after LASIK surgery for myopia, by using optical coherence tomography to perform a horizontal section of the cornea passing through its optical center and converting the scan data into a graph with vertical light reflection peaks corresponding to the vertical, front, back surface of the cornea and the interface, with the subsequent projection of the peaks on the horizontal axis and determining the distance between the projections of the peaks of the interface and the rear surface and corneas, characterized in that the scan results are first converted into digital data of a text file, and then, in a separate program, graphs are constructed from these data, moreover, for each horizontal section scan separately, after which they are summed vertically, and the peak of the corneal interface is defined as peak with maximum amplitude in the total graph in the range from 100 to 200 microns.
