Claims (17)

1. A device for receiving a large number of programs, comprising user interface means for selecting a program from the named set of programs and for selecting a user action, a controller that is configured to respond to the first user action by selecting the first program for recording to store said first program in the first list representing the list of programs for recording, and in response to the second user action for choosing the second program for both purchase and recording, remember the mentioned a second program in a second list representing a list of purchased programs, and also to remember said second program in said first list.  2. The device according to claim 1, wherein said first list includes an indication of a timer conflict for programs having a timer conflict.  3. The device according to claim 1, wherein said first list includes a purchase indication for said second program.  4. The device according to claim 1, wherein said controller is configured to first determine if there is a timer conflict between said second program and another program from said first list before storing said second program in said first list.  5. The device according to claim 4, wherein said controller is configured to prompt a user to resolve said timer conflict if said timer conflict exists.  6. A program processing apparatus comprising a controller for displaying a first list representing programs selected for recording, said controller configured to display a second list representing programs selected for purchase, and said controller configured to respond to user selection of said program for both purchase and recording, automatically enter said program into said first list and said second list.  7. The device according to claim 6, in which said first list includes an indication of a timer conflict for a program having a timer conflict.  8. The device according to claim 6, wherein said first list includes a purchase indication for said program.  9. The device according to claim 6, in which said controller is configured to first determine if there is a timer conflict between said program and another program from said first list before entering said program into said first list.  10. The device according to claim 9, in which said controller is configured to prompt a user to resolve said timer conflict if said timer conflict exists.  11. A device for processing multiple programs, comprising user interface means for selecting a program from said multiple programs and for selecting a user action, a controller configured to respond to the first user action to refuse the first recording program to remove said first program from the first a list representing a list of programs for recording, and in response to a second user action to refuse to purchase a second program, delete said second program from the second a letter representing the list of purchased programs, and also to delete said second program from said first list if said second program appears in said first list.  12. A device for processing a program containing means for displaying additional information on a TV screen for displaying a first list representing programs selected for recording, means for displaying additional information on a TV screen for displaying a second list representing programs selected for purchase, user control means for removing said program from said first and second lists; and a control tool that is configured to, in response to th user removal of said program from said second list, automatically remove this program from said first list when said second program appears in said first list.  13. A method for processing a plurality of programs, according to which a first program for recording from said plural programs is selected, said first program is stored in a first list, a second program is selected for both purchase and recording, a second program is stored in a second list representing purchased programs and, automatically remembering said second program in said first list.  14. The method according to item 13, according to which it is also determined whether there is a timer conflict between said second program and another program according to said first list, before remembering said second program in said first list.  15. The method according to 14, according to which also remind the user to resolve the timer conflict, if the mentioned timer conflict exists.  16. A method for processing a plurality of programs, according to which a first program is selected for deletion from a first list representing a list of programs selected for recording, a second program is selected for deletion from a second list representing a list of purchased programs, it is determined whether said second program also appears in said the first list, and said second program is automatically deleted from said first list if said second program appears in said first list.  17. A method of processing a program, according to which, in response to a user command, the program is deleted from the first list of programs representing the programs included in the recording list, it is determined whether the program is also a purchased program, and the program is automatically deleted from the second program list representing purchased programs, if said program is also a purchased program.
