Сущность изобретени : во врем  работы двигател  поршень 5 совершает циклические перемещени  по цилиндру 4. Через зазоры между поршнем 5 и цилиндром 4 масло проникает в камеру сгорани  и частично попадает на внутреннюю нагаровосп- ринимающую поверхность нагарника 6. В конце такта сжати  смесь паров топлива и масла воспламен етс  и сгорает. Продукты неполного сгорани  в виде нагара откладываютс  на поверхност х камеры сгорани , в том числе и на нагарнике 6. Оценка количества нагара производитс  весовым способом . Дл  этого в конце опыта из камеры сгорани  извлекаетс  нагарник 6, который затем взвешиваетс .
