The invention relates to the furniture industry, in particular to furniture for sitting and lying, transformable from a sitting position to a lying position and vice versa.

Known sofa bed according to patent RU 93642, which contains a transformation mechanism in the form of a metal frame in the form of three successively arranged sections articulated between each other, each of which is made in the form of a rectangular frame with elastic elements in the form of lat.

In sofa beds in which the sleeping place is formed by the accordion type transformation mechanism, the soft element of the sleeping place is usually a flat soft element in the form of a mattress, one part of which in the “sofa” position is used as a soft seat element, the middle part of the mattress is used as a soft element of the back, and the unused back of the mattress is located behind the back.

The use of armor as an elastic element in the section for the seat does not allow to provide a large range of changes in the amount of softness, which reduces comfort when sitting.

The frame of transformable upholstered furniture is described below on the example of furniture in the form of a sofa bed, although such a frame can be adapted, for example, for a chair-bed.

In FIG. 1 shows the frame of the sofa bed in the "sofa" position. The frame contains three sections pivotally connected to each other: the first section 1, pivotally connected to the fixed base 2, the middle second section 3 and the third section 4. The first and second sections 1 and 3 form the back of the furniture, and the third section 4 forms a seat. In this case, the first and second sections 1 and 3 of the frame are in a position close to vertical, and the third section 4 is horizontal. On the third section 4, brackets 5 are fixed with wheels for interaction with the supporting surface. Each of the sections is made in the form of a rectangular frame (Fig. 3) with elastic elements, moreover, on the first two adjacent sections 1 and 3, the elastic elements are made in the form of lat 6, and in the third section 4 in the form of snake springs 7. Preferably, the spring the snakes 7 are located essentially parallel to the short side of the frame, and the armor 6, depending on the particular furniture, can extend both parallel to the short side of the frame and parallel to the long side of the frame.

When using furniture, a soft element is installed on the frame, while the seat section 4, due to the execution of the elastic element in the form of snake springs 7, has a large range of changes in the amount of softness, providing high sitting comfort.

The furniture is transferred from the “sofa” position (Fig. 1) to the “bed” position (Fig. 2) by moving the third section 4 using the wheels mounted on the brackets 7 to the extreme extended position. In this case, the first and second sections 1 and 3 of the frame occupy a horizontal position, so that all three sections of the mechanism are essentially in the same horizontal plane.

The transfer of the sofa bed from the "bed" to the "sofa" position is carried out in the reverse order.
