Inventia se refera la un procedeu de obtinere a poliacetatului de vinil cu grad de ramificare mic si masa moleculara mare, prin polimerizarea acetatului de vinil cu o concentratie de 7 ... 7,5 mol/l într-un amestec din 5 vol metanol si un volum apa, sub actiunea sistemului redox persulfat de amoniu - N,N-dimetilaminopropiontitril în cantitati catalitice la 30 ... 50 grade C.
