Fir cablat, format din fire componente, fiecare dintre ele incluzând un miez si un învelis. în scopul reducerii deformabilitatii si voluminozitatii, miezul este format din fire poliesterice filamentare, iar învelisul din semitorturi din fibre de bumbac pieptanat. Se revendica si un procedeu de realizare a firului, prin filarea firelor de miez si a semitorturilor, dublarea lor urmata din rasucire, aburire, înmuiere, reunirea prin rasucire a mai multor fire preliminare. Se utilizeaza ca suport pentru articole tehnice de cauciuc.
