Procedeu de înobilare a unor particule de combustibil inferior, ca de exemplu carbunele, sub forma de particule mai mici de 25 mm, prin presare urmata de încalzirea corpurilor obtinute, în prezenta apei initial continute de particule si sub o presiune mai mare decat presiunea aburului la temperatura utilizata. Se aplica în industria prelucrarii carbunelui.
