Procedeu pentru 6-izopropil-1,1,4-trimetilidan, caracterizat prin aceea ca se supune izomerizarii 7-izopropil-1,1,4-trimetilidan, în prezenta de 2....7% greutate catalizator, constituit din AlCl3 sau AlBr3, eventual, activat cu cantitati echimolare de clorura de izopropil, respectiv bromura de izopropil, reactia de izomerizare 60 degree C, timp de 2....72 h.
