Abstract

The present invention relates to a process for multiplying, ex situ, the entomophagous Trichogramma spp., used in agriculture for the biological protection of plants. The process is performed in stages, namely, first there are collected the eggs of the host, Sitotroga cerealella O., laid down within the interval of 20...26 hours, the eggs are pre-treated for 5 minutes with deuterium depleted water and on this medium there occurs the mass multiplication of the oophagous Trichogramma spp. at 23...25°C and a relative humidity of 75...85%, afterwards there is performed the determination of the biological indices of the Trichogramma spp. population, such as prolificity, global percentage of hatching and the percentage of hatched females. The incubation and growth temperature for Trichogramma spp. provides higher biological indices of the hatched individuals.
