Abstract
Provided is a method for cultivating a plant sterile line, the method comprising a step of reducing the expression or the activity of a GDSL esterase related to pollen development in a plant. Also provided is a method for converting a plant from being sterile to being fertile, the method comprising a step of reducing a pollen cell membrane synthesis rate, and/or slowing down a pollen development rate. Also provided is an application of a GDSL esterase related to pollen development or an encoding gene of the GDSL esterase in the cultivation of a plant sterile line, or in the preparation of a reagent or a reagent kit for cultivating a plant sterile line.
