The invention relates to a compression die for refractory bricks employed in lining enclosures containing molten metal or other materials with temperatures up to 1,700 °C. According to the invention, the compression is performed about a single direction, using a press (2) whereon the ram-holder plate (1) is fastened, the upper ram (3) being secured to said ram-holder plate (1), the upper pressing plate (4) and the lower pressing plate (5) being mounted with screws under the upper ram (3). The level of filling the seat of the die cavity with refractory material is set, and by the simultaneous downward motion of the press crosshead and of the central plunger, the brick remains on the lower pressing plate-holder (13) and may be removed from the working area.
