Abstract
The invention relates to a hybrid of watermelon (Citrullus vulgaris Schrad) triploid, known as Rubin, without seeds, obtained by the hybridization method, having the paternal genus Antoanela and as a parent genus Bogdana variety, recommended to be cultivated in the Romanian Plain and West for fresh consumption. The main stem has 3.37 m plus or minus 0.03 m at the end of the vegetation period. The number of branches per plant at the end of the growing season is 17.31 plus or minus 0.21. The number of leaves per plant at the end of the growing season is 381.24 plus or minus 1.2. The leaf is 13.08 cm long and 14.16 cm wide. The fruit has green exocarp with more pronounced longitudinal stripes. The thickness of the shell is 0.7 cm and the pulp is red. The seed is 11.10 mm long, 7.16 mm wide and 2.45 mm thick. The weight of 1000 seeds is 70 g and the fruit weight on a plant is 8.85 kg plus or minus 0.56 kg. It is an early hybrid, with a vegetation period of 65 days, resistant to diseases, pests and unfavorable environmental factors. Fruit contains 9.71% sugar and produces 66375 kg / ha of fruit.
