Abstract

Invenţia se referă la un soi de pătlăgele vinete (Solanum melongena L) cu denumirea de Contesa, obţinut prin selecţie individuală repetată, recomandat a fi cultivat în toate zonele favorabile speciei din sudul, sud-estul şi sud-vestul ţării, pentru consum, în stare proaspătă, şi pentru industrializare. Planta prezintă o tufă semilaxă sau strânsă, cu ramificare medie. Tulpina, lăstarii, peţiolul frunzelor şi caliciul fructelor sunt acoperite cu perişori mediu deşi, de culoare alburie. Fructele sunt de formă cilindric alungită, cu vârful uşor ascuţit, sunt de culoare violet - închis şi prezintă o bună uniformitate. Soiul Contesa are o bună capacitate de producţie (39,4 t/ha fructe), depăşind soiul martor cu 18,2%. Este un soi timpuriu (118...120 zile perioada de vegetaţie), cu o comportare bună faţă de atacul principalilor agenţi patogeni ce afectează cultura de pătlăgele vinete. Fructele soiului Contesa au o pulpă albă, cu textură fină, fără gust amar.
