PL PL PL PLThe invention relates to a device for coating solid pharmaceutical agents in the form of metered doses. Metered doses of solid pharmaceutical agents are usually coated either in rotating bowls designed for this purpose or by a technique involving their entrainment in an air stream; for example, a fluidized bed technique. However, with such coating, the doses are subject to abrasion, which in the case of tablets can lead to their cracking and crumbling. Moreover, satisfactory results are not obtained in any case if the tablets are not spherical, because the resulting coating may be thinner or non-uniform, especially on all edges, which are areas of greater abrasion and greater stresses in the coating layer. Tablet abrasion can be avoided by increasing their hardness, but this, on the other hand, may result in reduced drug absorption. Uneven coating thickness is detrimental to tablet stability because such coatings do not uniformly obstruct the passage of oxygen and/or water vapor. U.S. Patent No. 3,192,891 describes a rotary device for coating solid pharmaceuticals, which comprises a rotating vacuum chamber and a set of tubes arranged radially around the chamber's circumference, creating a vacuum inside the tubes. The products to be coated are held at the outer ends of the tubes by the vacuum. During the rotation of the vacuum chamber with the supporting tubes, the products held by the vacuum at the ends of the tubes pass through the coating bath and then through the drying chamber, after which they are released by disconnecting the vacuum. The disadvantage of the known device described above is that all the products are simultaneously released from the supporting tubes by disconnecting these tubes from the vacuum, which means that the device operates periodically, because after one batch of products has been completely discharged, the next batch of products to be coated is fed to the device. The aim of the invention is to eliminate the above-described disadvantages of known coating devices. To achieve this goal, the task was to design a coating device that operates continuously, in which abrasion of the coated products is eliminated and which enables The invention relates to a device for coating solid pharmaceuticals, comprising a rotating vacuum chamber and a set of tubes arranged radially around the periphery of the vacuum chamber, used to support the articles to be coated, the tubes being preferably equipped with removable ends adapted in shape to the shape of the articles to be coated. The radially extending tubes are preferably arranged around the vacuum chamber in rows parallel to the axis of rotation of the chamber. The vacuum chamber, preferably in the shape of a hollow cylinder on which radial tubes are supported, is surrounded by a second outer chamber, coaxial to it, through which supporting tubes pass. The vacuum chamber is provided with a slider mounted inside it, fixedly mounted in relation to its rotational movement and movable in a direction parallel to the axis of the chamber. The slider is in contact with the inner surface of the vacuum chamber and slides on this surface during the rotation of the chamber. The slider is equipped with cutouts on its surface in contact with the inner surface of the vacuum chamber, the cutouts having a diameter equal to the diameter of the tubes. These cutouts ensure the connection of the supporting tubes with the vacuum in the vacuum chamber. However, when a given row of tubes with the coated products held by them reaches the operating zone of the slider, an appropriately synchronized sensor device can cause a lateral movement of the slider, moving it to a position in which the cutouts are offset relative to the tubes and do not coincide with them, thus breaking the connection of the tubes with the vacuum chamber and possibly simultaneously connecting these tubes to the air source if an internal channel is made in the slider. The coated articles can now be easily removed from the conveyor and the slider can return to its original position. A slider having a series of notches has the advantage that it can be moved into the vacuum-free position as soon as the row of notches reaches the appropriate point, whereas a solid slider can only do so gradually as the vacuum chamber rotates. The apparatus according to the invention is preferably equipped with a drying chamber through which the articles can pass after they have been immersed in the coating bath but before the vacuum in the support tubes is released. The drying chamber is preferably a forced air chamber or contains heating elements such as lamps, heating coils or radiant elements, for example infrared lamps or microwave lamps, for evaporating the solvent from the coating. An advantage of the device according to the invention is the selective release of coated articles. This device operates continuously, because while coated articles are being discharged from some rows of tubes, the next articles to be coated are being mounted in other rows. The device according to the invention is consequently much more economical and efficient than the known devices. The subject of the invention is shown in the drawing as an example of its embodiment, in which Fig. 1 shows the coating device according to the invention in axial section and Fig. 2 - the same device in frontal view. The rotary coating device 10 shown in Figs. 1 and 2 has a cylindrical vacuum chamber 11, an outer chamber 12 coaxial thereto, and an annular holder 13 rigidly connecting and fixing the parts of both chambers 11 and 12 in a defined, fixed position relative to each other. The vacuum chamber 11 is tightly closed at both ends by front walls 14 and 16. Tubes 17 are connected to the interior of the vacuum chamber 11. These tubes pass through the outer chamber 12 and protrude beyond it to the outside. The vacuum chamber 11 is rotatably mounted in relation to its longitudinal axis by means of a shaft 18 attached to the end face 14. The shaft 18 is rotatably mounted in a bearing 19 attached to the supporting structure 21. The annular holder 13 has a shoulder 22 which is rotatably mounted by means of a bearing mounted in a bearing housing 23. In this housing there is a bearing assembly 24 consisting of an outer raceway 26, rolling elements, for example in the form of balls 27, and an inner raceway 28. When the shaft 18 is rotated, the shoulder 22 rests on an inner raceway 28 which rolls on the balls 27. The outer race 26 is fixed relative to the bearing housing 23. The bearing housing 23 is equipped with a gas-tight seal 29 and is attached to the supporting structure 21a. The interior of the vacuum chamber 11 is connected to the interior of the hollow shaft 31 by an internal channel 32, which leads from the interior of the vacuum chamber 11 beyond the wall 16. The end of the shaft 31 is terminated by a conduit 33 connected to the vacuum generating system. The shaft 31 preferably does not rotate during the rotation of the vacuum chamber 11. Each of the tubes 17 can rotate about its longitudinal axis and is mounted tightly on the vacuum chamber side in the bearing sleeve 34 and on the external side in the bearing sleeve 35 and is secured against slipping out by means of an elastic retaining ring 36. The bearing in the bearing sleeve 34 is gas-tight. The retaining rings 36 keep all the tubes 17 in the same position with respect to the rotation axis of the device. The tubes 17 are connected to the interior of the vacuum chamber 11 and protrude beyond the external chamber 12. Although the drawing shows only two rows of tubes 17, each of which has five of them, it is obvious that the number of tubes in a row may be less or more than five, depending on the length of the vacuum chamber 11, and the number of rows is essentially limited only by the circumference of the vacuum chamber 11. During operation of the device according to the invention, a negative pressure is created in the vacuum chamber 11 by connecting it to the vacuum generating system via a line 33 and a channel 32 inside the shaft 31. The products 37 to be coated, in this case tablets, are held on the ends of the tubes 17 by the suction action induced in the vacuum chamber 11. The device 10 is set in rotation by means of a motor 38, a drive belt 39 and a pulley 41. During rotation of the device, the tablets 37 are in contact with the liquid coating substance in the tank 43, the level of which is indicated by the dashed line 43. The rotation of the coating device also causes the rotation of the gears 44, which in turn causes the tubes 17 to rotate about their longitudinal axes. Each tube 17 passes through the center of one of the gears 44 and can be fixed with respect to the gear and rigidly connected to it by means of a screw or a pin. The gears 44 are driven by the meshing of the outermost gear of each row with a stationary spur gear 46 attached to the supporting structure 21. Each of the gears 44 meshes with the adjacent gear of a given row and in this way all the gears mounted on the 60" tubes 17 of a given row are connected to each other. When the outermost gear 44, which meshes with the gear 46, is rotated by this gear, then all the gears 44 rotate simultaneously. The rotation of the tubes 17 causes the tablets 37 to rotate as well and this rotation allows for uniform coating of the tablets and prevents the coating substance from dripping down to the lowest part of the tablet when the coating is applied. When the device 10 rotates, each row of tubes 17 successively reaches a position in which it coincides with a stationary slider 48. The slider 48 is located inside the vacuum chamber 11 and is in contact with its inner surface, sliding against it during the rotation of the vacuum chamber 11. The slider 48 is attached at one end by means of a bracket 49 to the part of the hollow shaft 31 protruding into the interior of the vacuum chamber 11. The other end of the slider 48 is supported by a bracket 51. Both brackets 49 and 51 are connected to each other by a cross-connector 52 running along the vacuum chamber on the opposite side thereof in relation to the slider 48. The slider 48 has on its surface in contact with the inner surface of the vacuum chamber 11 a The chamber wall is provided with a series of cutouts 53. The horizontal dimension of each of these cutouts corresponds to the diameter of the tubes 17. When the row of tubes 17 passes over the slide 48, the vacuum is constantly maintained therein by means of the cutouts, the number and position of which correspond to the number and position of the tubes 17. When the row of tubes 17 is exactly in line with the cutouts 53 of the slide 48, the slide is quickly set in a retracting motion, bringing the upper part of the vacuum chamber into contact with the surface 54 of the slide above the tubes 17. The tubes 17 are then quickly cut off from the vacuum in the vacuum chamber, as shown in Fig. 1, and the slide 48 is in the off position. Once the connection to the vacuum is cut off, the tablets can be removed from the device. The slide 48 is actuated by a pneumatic actuator 56 attached to the outer end of the shaft 31. When the cutouts 53 on the slide 48 align with the suction tubes, the pneumatic actuator moves the shaft 31 and the slide 48 connected thereto to a position in which the upper surface 54 covers the tubes and isolates them from the vacuum. The pneumatic actuator 56 is actuated by a switch 57 through a known arrangement of connections, not shown in the drawing. This switch cooperates with a suitable number of sensing elements 58, for example in the form of tongues arranged on the outer circumference of the outer chamber 12. These sensing elements are synchronized with the slide 48 in such a way that when a given row of tubes 17 is positioned opposite the slide, the a corresponding sensing element 58 causes the switch 57 to be actuated, which in turn actuates the pneumatic actuator 56. The slide 48 is normally set in a fixed position relative to the internal surface of the vacuum chamber 11 by means of a rotary locating element 59. The collar ring 61 of this assembly is connected to the fixed shoulder 62 of the end wall 16 by means of a locating pin 63 which prevents the parts 61 and 62 from rotating relative to each other. When the position of the slide 48 within the chamber 11 is to be changed, the pin 63 is removed, thereby allowing relative rotation between the collar ring 61 and the shoulder 62. The shaft 31 to which the slide 48 is attached, The bearing bush 64 is now rotated in the bearing bush 64 to move the slider 48 to a new position. To immobilize the slider 48, i.e. to prevent it from rotating relative to the longitudinal axis of the chamber, the above operations are performed in reverse order. The bearing bush 64, e.g. of bearing bronze, also allows the shaft 31 to move in a straight line in a direction parallel to its axis when it is moved by the pneumatic cylinder 56 to actuate the slider 48. The bearing bush 64 also forms a gas-tight seal for the vacuum chamber. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the slider 48 is provided with an internal air channel, not shown, which is connected at one end to an air source, e.g. The surrounding atmosphere also connects with points on the outer surface 54 of the slider, between the cutouts 53, which points coincide with the tubes 17 when the slider is moved to move the cutouts 53 away from these tubes 17. In this way, not only is the connection between the tubes and the vacuum chamber cut off, but also their connection to the air source is established, which facilitates the removal of the coated products. Also connected to the device 10 is a drying chamber 66, where the tablets that have already been coated are dried before being removed from the device. The drying chamber 66 is a forced air chamber. The products to be coated, especially pharmaceuticals in the form of tablets or capsules, come in various sizes and shapes. To adapt the device to these 17 tubes of various sizes and shapes have removable tips 67. These tips are shaped to suit the dimensions and shape of the products to be coated. PL PL PL PL
