Przyklad. Uzyskuje sie 425 g pro¬ duktu z wydajnoscia 80%.Otrzymany produkt poddaje sie redukcji opilkami zeli¬ wnymi w srodowisku wodnym w obecnosci kwasu mrówko¬ wego i otrzymana o-izopropoksyaniline oddestylowuje sie z para wodna z mieszaniny poreakcyjnej. Po wyodrebnieniu i destylacji o-izopropoksyaniline poddaje sie dwuazowaniu azotynem sodowym, a sól dwuazoniowa hydrolizuje we wrzacym nasyconym wodnym roztworze siarczanu miedzio¬ wego z dodatkiem kwasu siarkowego. Powstajacy w czasie rozkladu soli dwuazoniowej o-izopropoksyfenol oddestylo¬ wuje sie z para wodna z mieszaniny reakcyjnej..Po wyodreb¬ nieniu i destylacji pod zmniejszonym cisnieniem uzyskuje sie produkt o temperaturze wrzenia 100-102° przy cisnieniu 5 11 mm Hg z wydajnoscia50%. v y • PL PLPriority: Published: 5.VII.1973 68250 KI. 12q, 14/04 MKP C07c 43/20 UKD Inventors of the invention: Konrad Sawicki, Barbara Dabrowska, Andrzej Bendowski Patent owner: Institute of Organic Industry, Warsaw (Poland) Method for the production of o-isopropoxyphenol The subject of the invention is a method for the production of o-isopropoxyphenol with o -chloronitrobenzene through o-isopropoxynitrobenzene. A known method of obtaining o-isopropoxyphenol consists in the etherification of guaiacol with isopropyl alcohol and subjecting the obtained o-methoxyisopropoxybenzene to demethylation with sodium dissolved in liquid ammonia. a method for the production of o-alkoxyphenols involving, inter alia, heating the monosodium salt of pyrocatechin with isopropyl halide under pressure. According to another known method, o-isopropoxyphenol can also be obtained by transeterrification of o-nitroanisole, and then reduction of the o-isopropoxynitrobenzene group and exchange of the amino group .O-isopro manufacturing processes of poxyphenol by demethylation of o-methoxyisopropoxybenzene or treating the sodium salt of pyrocatechin with isopropyl halide are inconvenient due to technological difficulties and hardly available raw materials. The aim of the invention is to develop a method of obtaining o-isopropoxyphenol using the commonly available chloro-benzene as a starting material. The main difficulty here is the fact that in the exchange of chlorine in o-chloronitrobenzene into higher than C2 alkoxyl groups in a suitable alcohol and in the presence of slime, the side processes consisting in the reduction of the nitro group to, inter alia, o-chloroaniline, prevail over the basic reaction. these were overcome and the object of the invention was achieved by continuously introducing the alkali metal hydroxide into the reaction environment while simultaneously using an anti-reduction agent. The method of the invention consists in treating o-clilos ronitrobenzene with isopropyl alcohol at the boiling point of this alcohol at the same time. by continuously introducing an alkali metal hydroxide dissolved in isopropyl alcohol into the reaction mixture as the reaction progresses continuously. The reactions are carried out in a practically anhydrous environment in the presence of an anti-reducing agent, cupric hydroxide. After the chlorine exchange is completed, the o-isopropoxynitrobenzene obtained is reduced, and the o-isopropoxyaniline formed in this way is diazotized and the diazonium salt is hydrolyzed to o-isopropoxyphenol. the use of higher pressure, the use of the available o-chloronitrobenzene and the suitability of this method for industrial application. Between the reactor and the reflux condenser, a glass core is placed, into which 247 g of potassium liquor mixed with Raschig rings are charged. 3700 ml of isopropanbl with a water content of no more than 0.5% are introduced into the reactor, and then 463 g of o-chloronitrobenzene and 57.5 g of cupric hydroxide are added with stirring. With continued vigorous stirring, heat the contents of the reactor to the boiling point of isopropanol for 12 hours. During this time, the distilling condenser, 682503 68250 4, flowing in the cooler, isopropanol, flows into the reactor through the thimble, washing out the potassium slurry contained in it. The slime elution rate is regulated by the intensity of heating the reactor. After completion of the reaction, the mixture is cooled to room temperature without interrupting stirring, acidified with concentrated sulfuric acid to a pH of 2-3, and the precipitate of copper compounds, potassium chloride and potassium sulphate is removed by suction. The isopropanol is initially distilled from the filter under normal conditions. and finally under reduced pressure. The crude o-isopropoxynitrobenzene is distilled under reduced pressure, collecting the fractions boiling at 126 ° -127 ° at 7 mm / Hg. 425 g of the product are obtained with a yield of 80%. The obtained product is reduced with iron filings in an aqueous environment in the presence of formic acid and the obtained o-isopropoxyaniline is distilled with water vapor from the reaction mixture. After isolation and distillation, the o-isopropoxyaniline is diazotized with sodium nitrite, and the diazonium salt is hydrolyzed in boiling saturated aqueous copper sulfate solution with the addition of sulfuric acid. The o-isopropoxyphenol formed during the decomposition of the diazonium salt is distilled off with water vapor from the reaction mixture. After isolation and distillation under reduced pressure, a product is obtained with a boiling point of 100-102 ° at a pressure of 5 11 mm Hg with a yield of 50%. v y • PL PL
