PL PLThe invention relates to steam locomotives provided with air condensers for the exhaust steam and consists in arranging the engine at one end of the condenser. A similar arrangement provides the shortest connection between the boiler and the motor on one side, and between the motor and the condenser on the other side, and also requires as little space as possible to position the motor. The figure shows the side view of the condenser tube connected to the boiler car, and explains the features of the invention. In the case of large steam locomotives, the steam pipe between the engine and the condenser must have considerable dimensions. For this reason, the engine is usually placed on the condenser car in direct communication with the air condenser. The engine, usually in the form of a steam turbine, then drives the wheels of the condenser car. The drive is transferred to the wheels 4 by means of connecting rods 3.
