Znane i ogólnie stosowane sposoby wytwarza¬ nia lateksu butadienowo-styrenowego daja lateiks o niskiej zawartosci substancji kauczukowej. Równiez znane sa chemiczne sposoby aglomeracji opisane w czasopismie Rubber and Plastics Age 42, nr 7(1961). PLPublished: 30.XI1.1964 KI 39 b, 5 / 05- Z9 b3,? There are special methods for obtaining a more concentrated latex, they allow to obtain a latex containing only up to 50% dry substance, whereby tan latex is unstable and contains free monomer impurities. Therefore, if you want to obtain a latex with a rubber content above 55%, you must pay for To press the latex obtained in the usual manner in the steady state e more dilution. The known methods of latex jamming involve agglomeration and complete evaporation of some of the water. Without agglomeration, water removal from latex is not possible. Agglomeration is carried out in a known manner by expression; this is an expensive method due to high energy consumption. Chemical agglomeration methods are also known in the journal Rubber and Plastics Age 42, No. 7 (1961). These methods are complicated, expensive and require the use of special agents such as, for example, polyvinyl methyl ether. It is also known that electrolytes, e.g. sodium, potassium, ammonium and potassium chlorides, sulphates, carbonates, etc. cause latex agglomerations. However, the degree of agglomeration achieved by the action of electrolytes is not sufficient in the present case. The invention relates to the chemical agglomeration of the latex obtained at the usual concentration. The method according to the invention is simple to carry out and does not require expensive additives. It is suitable for the thickening of latices obtained by various known methods, but only when used as emulsifiers in the polymerization process of fatty acid soaps or colophony. However, it is not suitable for latexes obtained on some synthetic emulsifiers, e.g. necal. The method according to the invention consists in agglomerating the latex by the action of electrolytes such as sodium, potassium, ammonium chlorides, sulfates, carbonates, etc., and non-ionic emulsifiers, ¬ new ethylene oxide condensates with dodecyl, cetyl or oleic alcohol. These condensates are known and used in the textile industry and in other industries, but only as emulsifiers. It turned out that these condensates also cause latex agglomeration, but by themselves they work insufficiently, while the combined action of two weak agents, such as electrolytes and the mentioned emulsifiers, gives an unexpectedly great effect of latex agglomeration. The sequence of using these two types of agents is not indifferent. The use of the electrolyte first and then the addition of a non-ionic emulsifier has proved most advantageous. Also, quite favorable effects are achieved when the electrolyte is mixed in advance with the emulsifier and the mixture is acted on to the latex. On the contrary, adding first the emulsifier and then the electrolyte is less effective. According to the invention, a freshly prepared degassed latex containing, for example, 30% of rubber and 0.1-0.2% of free styrene. —9,5 is first agglomerated with aqueous solutions of the individual, above-mentioned simple mineral salts or their mixtures in the amount of 1 to 3% of anhydrous salts in relation to the weight of rubber. It is most advantageous to add the inorganic salt to the latex with constant agitation in a fairly concentrated solution, e.g. 10% strength. After mixing, an ethylene oxide condensate emulsifier solution with dodecyl, cetyl or oleic alcohol is added in an amount ranging from 1 to 3% dry substance based on the weight of the rubber. Then, further agglomeration takes place, allowing the water to evaporate to obtain a latex with a content of more than 55% of the rubber substance. PL
