Abstract
The multifunctional solid fuel combustion modifier contains petroleum fraction in the distillation range from 170 to 380°C, ignition temperature 70°C in an amount of 10 - 50% (m/m), preferably 30 - 50% (m/m) and/ or a mixture of 2 ethylhexanol and high molecular weight compounds (>C9) from the production of 2 ethylhexanol in an amount of 10 - 50% (m/m), preferably 20 - 30% (m/m) and/or iron oxide nanoparticles in an amount from 0.1 to 20% (m/m), preferably 1 to 15% (m/m) and/or cerium oxide nanoparticles in an amount of 0.1 to 20% (m/m), preferably from 0.5 to 10% (m/m ) and/or magnesium oxide nanoparticles in an amount of 0.1 to 3% (m/m), preferably 0.5 to 2% (m/m) and/or nickel oxide nanoparticles in an amount of 0.1 to 15% ( m/m), preferably 1 to 10% (m/m) and/or 0.1 to 0.5% (m/m) of 1,4-sorbitan monooleate dissolved in toluene, preferably 0.2 to 0.4% ( m/m) and/or 0.1 to 0.3% (m/m) propoxylated dodecylphenol as an anti-staining, dispersing and emulsifying agent. The modifier mixture takes the form of a colloidal suspension of nanoparticles in a carrier liquid, e.g. oil or hydrocarbons. Surface-active compounds (surfactants) are added to this mixture. The dielectric properties of the surfactant and the carrier liquid are selected to be similar to each other, which results in the disappearance of van der Waals interactions between the particles and, as a result, no agglomeration of metal oxide nanoparticles. The modifier is dosed into a coal-fired boiler by spraying the coal and/or injecting the modifier into the primary or secondary air through a magnetic field created by magnets mounted on the air intake pipelines to the combustion chamber with magnetic properties.
