Iy <la POLISH PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC PATENT DESCRIPTION No. 42429 KI.Mty $ lQ £ Jadwiga Habrik-Wisnieiuska Warsaw, Poland m, v «c Binder for the production of paints The patent is valid from May 8, 1959. The invention relates to a binder for the production of oil paints. Known oil paints used for artistic painting show a number of drawbacks, the most important of which is slow drying, which makes it impossible to apply the next layer of paint before a certain period of time. Failure to take this into account when painting causes a disease of the so-called tickling. In addition, these paints change color over time, namely darkening and yellowing. The binder according to the invention removes the above-mentioned disadvantages of known paints of this type and gives a lot of freedom in painting without fear that the above-mentioned difficulties will occur, while at any time it is possible to use with the paints obtained on this binder, stop or continue painting. It was found that the requirements were met by a binder consisting of a mixture of varnish, casein, borax, ammonia, turpentine and water, in which the ratio of varnish to casein, borax and ammonia was 2 : 2.5-3.5, and the amount of the remaining ingredients, i.e. terppenin and water, is selected in accordance with the requirements. In order to produce the finished paint, the binder according to the invention is mixed with suitable powder paints, as this is the case in the preparation of known oil paints. The pictures painted with paint on the binder according to the invention can be varnished, similar to painting with ordinary paints. PL
