Obwodowa powierzchnia robocza pasa bieżnika (2) przedłużona jest po obu stronach opony w kierunku zgodnym z kierunkiem jej osi obrotu (A), tworząc po obu stronach wokół opony obwodowe kołnierze (3), których powierzchnie zewnętrzne (4, 5) stanowią poszerzenie pasa bieżnika (2) opony.
