Abstract
Solid oxygen carriers used in the processes of combustion and/or gasification of fuels in the chemical oxide loop system are obtained from ashes originating from the processes of thermal treatment of excess sludge from water or sewage, with a grain size of less than 2 mm, preferably < 0.5 mm, having in its composition from 5 to 95% by weight. transition metal oxides. Preferably, the ash from excess sewage sludge is subjected to aqueous alkali leaching at the boiling point of the water-ash suspension, followed by filtration and water washing to obtain an alkali content calculated as K2O + Na2O in the product of ≤ 2.5% by weight.
