Description
PLThe present invention relates to a method of producing metal strings for string instruments. Such strings have a metal core on which a metal strip or several such strips are wound. Strings of this type, produced in the hitherto known method, have a silk yarn backing on a steel wire core, screwed or in the form of a braided sheath on one or several layers of unidirectionally wound metal tape are wound up. Strings produced by these methods, however, suffer from a number of disadvantages. When the silk thread is wound on the core, the surface of the silk coating produced is uneven, and when the string is stretched, the silk coils loosen, which adversely affects the sound and threading of the string. When winding one or more layers of metal on a silk yarn backing, one-sided winding of either wire or metal tape has always been used, as a result of which, after a certain period of use, these coils loosen and quickly deteriorate due to breaking. wires or tapes. Such loosening of the coils of the wire or the metal band also has a negative effect on the sound and threading of the string. a silk backing made of a silk thread placed parallel along and around a steel wire core, and then a metal tape is wound on the silk backing thus produced. If it is necessary to wind more layers of metal strips on thicker strings, each subsequent layer is wound in the opposite direction to the front, which makes it impossible to loosen the individual turns even after a longer period of use of the string. The individual layers of metal ties may be made of metal tapes and or their alloys, e.g. aluminum, silver, copper, brass or chrome and welin tapes. PL
