Abstract

The invention relates to a window or a door with a frame and casement sash (1, 2). According to the invention a peripheral sealing chamber (24) is embodied between the frame and casement sash (1, 2) which is sealed off by means of at least one seal (21). The frame (1) and casement sash (2) can be optionally locked or unlocked via a mobile bolt (5) and a drive rod fitting presenting fixed points of engagement (6) for the bolt. To be able to move the window into a ventilation position without releasing the locked position of the drive rod fitting, since this would reduce the security offered by the window or door concerned, the invention provides for the drive rod fitting (3) to have a device (20) for moving the seal (21) from a first position, in which the seal (21) contacts the frame (1) and casement sash (2), into a second position in which the seal (21) is lifted away from said frame (1) or casement sash (2). In the second position the bolts (5) continue to engage their points of engagement (6). The invention also relates to a device by means of which even casement sashes not having a drive rod fitting can be moved into a ventilation position.
