Abstract

Disclosed is an automatic push bar for doors or similar items, especially for furniture doors, comprising at least one receiving part (1) on one door leaf or a frame and at least one locking part (2) on the other, or another, door leaf. The locking unit (2) includes a guide sliding track for the tip (5''), laterally projecting from the locking unit (2), of a push bar (5) to be vertically pushed into said locking device, so that the locking unit (2) is substantially flush mounted relative to the upper or lower door leaf edge, that the push bar (5), when the door leaf is open, slightly rises, or does not rise at all, above the upper edge of the locking unit (2) and, when the door leaf is closed, rises above the upper edge so as to well engage into a specially designed frame part (10), and that the receiving part (1) has a recess (6) in which the push bar (5) tip (5'') is in gear when closing the door and is pushed along the guide sliding track (13), in which it rests (5'') once the door leaf is closed.
