Przedmiotem wynalazku jest przenośna kontenerowa jednostka architektoniczna w zastosowaniu do celów biurowych, hotelowych, usługowych, laboratoryjnych, a w szczególności mieszkalnych.The subject of the invention is a portable architectural container unit used for office, hotel, service, laboratory and, in particular, residential purposes.

Przenośne obiekty przeznaczone na pobyt ludzi sprawdzają się szczególnie tam, gdzie potrzeba tymczasowego zamieszkania i miejsc pracy. Kontenerowe konstrukcje spotykane są dziś na niemal każdym placu budowy. W wielu sytuacjach, np. po kataklizmach, czy podczas prac badawczych w terenie pojawia się potrzeba szybkiego zapewnienia tymczasowych mieszkań w otoczeniu słabo do tego przystosowanym. Czas i klimat, w których pojawia się ta potrzeba, nie zawsze pozwala na stosowanie namiotów, czy wozów lub przyczep campingowych, a wznoszenie nowych konstrukcji wymaga znacznie więcej czasu i środków niż te dostępne.Portable objects designed for people to stay are especially useful where there is a need for temporary accommodation and workplaces. Container structures are found today on almost every construction site. In many situations, e.g. after natural disasters or during field research, there is a need to quickly provide temporary housing in a poorly adapted environment. The time and climate in which this need arises does not always allow the use of tents, wagons or caravans, and the construction of new structures requires much more time and resources than available.

Architektura mobilna od początku swojego istnienia napotyka szereg problemów, które projektanci starają się rozwiązywać, zawsze jednak wiąże się to z pewnymi kompromisami. Czynników takich jak łatwość i szybkość w transporcie, komfort użytkowania, niezależność od warunków zewnętrznych, funkcjonalność, jakość wizualna, trwałość, bezpieczeństwo oraz niski koszt nie da się zapewnić jednocześnie i w pełni. Jednak największym ograniczeniem są wynikające z prawnych regulacji gabaryty transportowe, które dla transportu kołowego na terenie krajów europejskich nie przekraczają 2,6 m (w Polsce 2,4 m) szerokości i 4m wysokości. Tak wąskie przestrzenie są bardzo trudne do zaaranżowania jako miejsca stałego pobytu ludzi, tym bardziej do zorganizowania w ich granicach jednostki mieszkalnej lub biurowej z całym niezbędnym minimalnym wyposażeniem. Znane jest rozwiązanie oparte o mechanizm teleskopowy (US 7290372), gdzie problem wykorzystania niewielkiej powierzchni jednostki kontenerowej wynikającej z gabarytów transportowych rozwiązywany jest poprzez rozsunięcie ścian zewnętrznych w momencie posadowienia.
