Description
Opis wynalazkuDescription of the invention
Przedmiotem wynalazku jest przemienny, rzędowy sposób siewu dwóch gatunków roślin na jednym polu uprawnym, zwłaszcza roślin zbożowych z roślinami bobowatymi grubonasiennymi. The subject of the invention is an alternating, row-based method of sowing two plant species in one field, especially cereals with legumes.
Mixed cultivation of two or more plant species in one field is known. The most commonly grown mixtures are mixtures of cereal crops or cereals with legumes. Such mixtures have many advantages. The most important is the greater yield accuracy in years and in fields with high soil variability. The main drawback of growing mixtures is the variability of the composition of the yield. In the case of mixtures of cereals and legumes, the share of legume seeds in the yield is generally lower than it would result from their share in the seed material. It should be noted that it is the legume component of the mixture that is naturally and economically more valuable. The reason for this state of affairs is interspecific competition, generated, among others, by the distance between the plants resulting from the seed distribution during sowing. This competition intensifies with the decreasing distance between plants and their increasing density per unit area. The subjects of competition are mainly water, light and nutrients. Cereals have a greater growth dynamics than legumes, limiting their access to light, and they deplete water and nutrients from the soil faster.
In agricultural practice, two methods of sowing plants in mixtures are commonly used. First: mixed seeds of different plant species are put into the seed drill tank and the mixture is sown in the field. Second: first, seeds of one species are sown in rows (one pass of the seeder), and then the seeds of the second type are sown in perpendicular rows or at an undefined and irregular angle to the rows of the first species (second pass of the seeder). The row spacing is adapted to the requirements of the plant species growing in a larger density and sown in pure, single-species sowing, and not in a mixture. In a mixture of cereals and legumes, it is a cereal plant, and the row spacing is 10-15 cm. The existing methods of sowing cause the seeds of the mixture to be sown, and then the growing plants of two species to be randomly distributed in the field and in close proximity to each other.
A, B, A, B......The essence of the method of sowing plants according to the invention is to minimize the effect of interspecific competition, since only plants of one plant species are sown in one row. The method consists in sowing the seeds of two types of crops in single rows, with a wide row spacing, every 30-40 cm, while the rows of both mixture components, grade A and grade B, are sown alternately A and B, A, B ......
Increasing the distance between the sown rows is possible because less seeds of a given species are sown in the mixture than in pure, single-species sowing.
Due to the greater distances between the adjacent rows of plants, the sowing method also uses the phenomenon of the edge effect, in which plants growing in the immediate vicinity of an unsown space (e.g. wide inter-row) have at their disposal greater resources of growth factors than plants growing in high density, thus what they yield better.
The method of sowing according to the invention also eliminates the effects of interspecific competition of plants in the initial period of their growth and minimization in further development stages.
