The dry iron consists of a body with a handle, an adjustment knob, and a flat ironing plate in the approximate shape of an isosceles triangle. A circumferential recess is located between the triangular pressing plate with arc-shaped sides and the body, wherein the body, with a shape in plan view corresponding to the shape of the pressing plate, projects rearward beyond the area of the pressing plate.
