The known shifters are built in the form of high and rigid steel structures, made in the form of one element, moved on wheels. They have, on the upper surface of the load-bearing girders, rails which are level with the rails of the entire yard. The reduced-height shifter, the subject of the invention, consists of several movable segments, mounted on the running wheels and connected with each other by articulations, thanks to which it is a flexible structure as a whole. Each segment of the shifter has a girder, shaped in the form of a trough open at the top, equipped in the lower part with a running rail, fixed in its longitudinal axis. The design of the shifter, which is the subject of the invention, allows to reduce the depth of the necessary channels, which will allow transport and full use of the maneuvering space and will reduce the cost of implementation.
