Description

Wprowadzony do mieszanki karburyzator stanowi oslone przeciwtlenowa, w poczatkowej fazie mieszania, to znaczy zabezpiecza skladniki przed gwaltownym utlenieniem sie, natomiast zwiazek sodowy i boraks lub sam boraks polepsza ja termodynamiczne warunki odsiarczania. UP PRL naklad 120 + 18 Cena 45 zl PLThe subject of the invention is a mixture for the desulphurization of steel in a ladle, containing in its composition fine quicklime, magnesium and aluminum, suitable especially for desulphurization of steels which are still stable during their tapping into the ladle. in oxygen converters it is relatively expensive and is lengthy or sometimes impossible. For this reason, modern steelmaking performs desulphurization of the metal in the ladle during its tapping, using various mixtures in which the basic component is lime. These mixtures, at the temperature of steel, melt, which results in a lower metal temperature and a reduction in the desulphurization efficiency. »In order to make them easier to melt them and compensate for heat losses, exothermic additives are sometimes used, which increase costs and reduce the proportion of lime in the mixture, which is the main desulphurization component. A known mixture according to Polish patent description No. below 1-25 mm, magnesium or its alloys up to 10%, powder of magnesium or its alloys in such an amount that the total amount of magnesium in the mixture does not exceed 10% and additionally ground aluminum in the amount of 3 - 10%, shows relatively low wettability with metal which makes it difficult to fully use it. For a more effective desulphurization of steel and better use of desulphurizing ingredients, a mixture was developed containing in its composition, in addition to the same amount of the same ingredients contained in the known and above-mentioned mixture, additionally ground solid resins, preferably rosins, in an amount of up to 2%, and borax in up to 7% or borax and sodium carbonate in a total amount up to 10%. The use of the mixture according to the invention in the amount of 10 kg / Mg of steel does not lower the temperature of the steel in the ladle during its dynamic mixing with metal, because in the first stage of this process The chemically active particles of lime appear in a solid state, and strong deoxidation of the reaction zone with magnesium and aluminum causes the release of heat, which favors the desulfurization process. On the other hand, the evaporation of magnesium enhances the mixing of the metal with fine particles of lime, creating favorable conditions for the kinetics of desulfurization and the discharge of inclusions. The carburizer introduced into the mixture is an oxygen shield, in the initial stage of mixing, that is, it protects the ingredients against violent oxidation, while the sodium compound and borax or borax alone improves the thermodynamic conditions of desulfurization. The mixture according to the invention, despite the fact that it contains magnesium, is safe to use, and the metal spatter formed as a result of magnesium vaporization is very small and does not create additional hazards for the operator. Moreover, the use of the mixture does not require the installation of additional devices, apart from those which is used for tapping steel in every steel mill. The desulphurization mixture according to the invention, with the use of appropriate technology, allows for quick removal of about 0.010% to 0.020% of sulfur, depending on the steel grade, while the slag formed from desulphurization is in a solid or pasty state , and after solidification it is porous and easily crumbles. It is added in portions to the ladle from the top during tapping in an amount not exceeding 10 kg / Mg of steel, and the main desulphurization process takes place under conditions of intensive metal circulation. Examples: quicklime, ground clay. powdered magnesium powdered waste magnesium chips rosin sodium carbonate, borax 83.7% 3.3% 1.0% o, 0 / t 1.0% - 5.0% 82.0% 3.0% - 7 \\ j / c 1.0% 2.0% 5.0% Patent disclaimer Desulfurization mixture steel in a ladle which, in addition to fine quicklime, contains in its weight composition magnesium comminuted to a size of 1-25 mm or its alloys in the amount up to 10%, magnesium powder or its alloys in such an amount that the total amount of magnesium in the mixture does not exceed 10%. and ground aluminum in such an amount that the total amount of aluminum in the desulfurization mixture is from 3 to 10%, characterized in that it contains ground solid resin, preferably rosin, up to 2% and borax up to 7% or borax and sodium carbonate in a total amount up to 10%.
