SAFETY DEVICE FOR SCROLLING DOOR -
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION - 1. Fields of the invention =
The present invention relates to a safety device for scrolling door, - the scrolling door is able to be opened in emergent situations. o 2. Descriptions of Related Art
The conventional scrolling doors are used for business sites and = can be opened and closed by motors. When the electrical power cannot be normally supplied, the users are difficult to manually open the scrolling doors due to the brake function of the motors. In some emergent situations, the scrolling doors with fail motors may impede evacuation and cause people injuries.
Some of the scrolling doors are cooperated with a clutch which can switch the electrical operation mode into the manual operation mode, so that when in emergent situations, the users can switch to the manual operation mode and successfully open the scrolling doors. However, the clutch usually is installed to either an indoor position or an outdoor position, that is to say, only the people who can access the clutch can switch the electrical operation mode into the manual operation mode.
A latest safety device is installed to the wall and allows the users to open the scrolling door either from outside or inside positions. However,
the safety device has to drill a hole through the wall, and this needs to be : further improved. v
The present invention intends to provide a safety device for a c scrolling door, and which improves the shortcomings of the conventional - safety devices. o
The present invention relates to a safety device for a scrolling door. 5
The safety device is installed between the wall and the scrolling door, and y connected with a clutch. The safety device comprises a frame, a lock and a control member. The lock is connected to outside of the frame. A first cable has the first end thereof connected to the lock, and the second of the first cable is connected to the clutch. The lock controls the clutch to activate the manual operation mode or the electrical operation mode.
The control member is connected to inside of the frame and has a housing, a transmission unit and a control unit. The housing includes the first side thereof connected to the frame, and a room is defined in the housing. An opening is defined through the second side of the housing and communicates with the room. The control unit includes a push button and a press button, wherein the push button is pivotably located at the opening, and partially located in the room and partially located beyond the opening.
« t :
The press button is located on the top of the housing and connected to the : push button when the push button is pivoted toward the room. -
The transmission unit is pivotably located in the room and located = below the press button. The transmission unit includes a first part and a - second part, wherein the mediate portion of the first part is pivotably connected to the mediate portion of the second part. A link is pivotably > connected between the first end of the first part and the push button. A = block protrudes from the first part and is located between the first end of the » first part and the first end of the second part. The second end of the second part includes a notch. A second cable is connected between the notch and the clutch. When the push button is pushed toward the room, the first part is pivoted by the link, and the block pushes the first end of the second part which drives the second cable to activate the clutch so that the scrolling door is able to be opened manually.
