Abstract

A double-sided tape with a separator is prepared. This double-sided tape with a separator includes: a double-sided tape portion of a rim portion circling shape which can cover a entirety of a periphery of a plane of a panel body which is an bonding destination; a weak-peel separator bonded to a first adhesive surface of the double-sided tape portion; and a sheet body bonded to a second adhesive surface of the double-sided tape portion. A sheet body is formed in a planar shape which can cover a plane of a panel body, and functions as a strong-peel separator indicates a higher peeling strength than that of a weak-peel separator. A manufacturing method includes: peeling a weak-peel separator from a double-sided tape with a separator; and bonding a first adhesive surface of a double-sided tape portion along a periphery of a plane of a panel body.

Description

Pot square shape as a tape main body. Namely, the double-sided ~ tape portion 2 includes an opening 2a so as not to cover the 5 back side surface of an operating surface of the touch panel . or all over a display surface of the liquid crystal display fos part of the liquid crystal panel. Also, the double-sided tape “ portion 2 includes a first adhesive surface 2b to bond a - weak-peel separator 4 and a second adhesive surface 2c to bond = a strong-peel separator/protection film 3, as rectangular = annular adhesive surfaces. -
An outer rim size of the square shape is the substantially same as a planar size of a bonding destination panel portion (a touch sensor panel 11 described below). In some cases, the outer rim size of the hollow square shape may be made slightly smaller than the planar size of the touch sensor panel 11.
Either way, the double-sided tape portion 2 is a rim portion circling shape going along the entirety of the periphery of the plane of the bonding destination touch sensor panel 11.
The width of a frame portion of the hollow square shape (window frame shape) is not defined in particular. This width : is set to a width which secures the sufficient fixing strength to adhere and fix the touch sensor panel 11 to other portions by the double-sided tape portion 2.
The weak-peel separator 4 is bonded to one adhesive surface (the first adhesive surface 2b) of this double-sided tape portion 2. The first adhesive surface is shown as a surface of a lower side in the drawings. In this example, the weak-peel separator 4 includes a wider planar size than the outer rim size of the double-sided tape portion 2.
For example, the weak-peel separator 4 has the planar size which protrudes approximately 5 to 10 mm from an outer rim of the double-sided tape portion 2 over the entire bo periphery. This makes the weak-peel separator 4 easily peeled from the double-sided tape portion 2 by pinching the rim = portion of the weak-peel separator 4. fe
In some cases, the weak-peel separator 4 may have a shape ~ which partially protrudes to be used for peeling even if the - end portion does not protrude from the double-sided tape 2 portion 2 over the entire periphery. co
The strong-peel separator/protection film 3 (A = strong-peel separator 3 which is combining a protection film) Co is bonded to the other adhesive surface (the second adhesive surface 2c) of the double-sided tape portion 2. The second adhesive surface is shown as a surface of an upper side in the drawings. For example, the second adhesive surface may be an opposite surface of the first adhesive surface.
Additionally, the second adhesive surface may be parallel to the first adhesive surface. In this example, the strong-peel separator/protection film 3 has the substantially same planar size as the outer rim size of the double-sided tape portion 2.
Each of the weak-peel separator 4 and the strong-peel separator/protection film 3 has film shapes, and sandwich the both surfaces of the double-sided tape portion 2 of the square shape by these films.
Further, at least the strong-peel separator/protection film 3 is a transparent film.
In other cases, the strong-peel separator/protection film 3 may be semi-transparent.
For example, PET (Polyethyleneterephthalate) films are used for the weak-peel separator 4 and the strong-peel separator/protection film 3. The thicknesses of the weak-peel separator 4 and the strong-peel
EE ———————————————— separator/protection film 3 are, for example, approximately = 0.1 mm. -
Silicone is used as a material of peeling coating coated ~ on the PET films. Further, fluorine coating is used as ~ non-silicone coating in some cases. © “Weak peel” and “strong peel” indicate a peeling strength h degree, and the weak peel indicates a lower peeling strength - than that of strong peel. A difference between the weak peel > the and strong peel is due to a blend of a silicone component & of the peeling coating. +
When the more amount of the silicone component is blended, a lower peeling strength is indicated.
A process of manufacturing the panel body 10 by using the double-sided tape with the separator 1 will be described.
FIGS. 2A, 2B and 2C schematically show states of the process of manufacturing the panel body 10. FIG. 3A shows the process of manufacturing the panel body 10.
FIG. 2A shows the double-sided tape with the separator 1 described with reference to FIG. 1.
In process S1 in FIG. 3A, the weak-peel separator 4 is peeled from the double-sided tape with the separator 1.
As shown in FIG. 2A, the weak-peel separator 4 has the planar size which protrudes along the entire periphery from the outer rim portion of the hollow square shape of the double-sided tape portion 2. Consequently, an operator, an automatic machine or the like can easily peel the weak-peel separator 4 by using the end portion of the weak-peel separator 4,
The weak peel and strong peel are set, so that it is easy to peel the weak-peel separator 4 without peeling the strong-peel separator/protection film 3.
FIG. 2B shows the double-sided tape 1, where the weak-peel separator 4 is peeled. =
Subsequently, in process S2 in FIG. 3A, the double-sided o tape with the separator 1 is bonded to the plane of the touch ~ sensor panel 11 as the panel portion. =
FIG. 4A shows the double-sided tape with the separator 1 and the touch sensor panel 11. FIG. 4B shows a ~ cross-sectional structure in a state where the double-sided ® tape with the separator 1 is bonded to the touch sensor panel > — 0
In this example, a decorative cover glass 12 is bonded to a top surface (touch surface) of the touch sensor panel 11, and a double-sided tape bonding destination panel is formed the touch sensor panel 11 and the decorative cover glass 12.
The double-sided tape with the separator 1 is bonded to the touch sensor panel 11, where the adhesive surface from which the weak-peel separator 4 has been peeled is bonded to and along the entirety of the periphery portion of a back surface R (a surface opposite to the touch surface) of the touch sensor panel 11.
The double-sided tape portion 2 has the hollow square shape yet the planar strong-peel separator/protection film 3 is bonded, so that the double-sided tape with the separator 1 has the strength to some extent.
Consequently, the automatic machine or the like can easily perform the bonding process.
As described above, the strong-peel separator/protection film 3 has the thickness of approximately 0.1 mm, for example, so that it is possible to maintain the appropriate strength of the double-sided tape portion 2 of the square shape.
EE —— EE — ,
Preferably, the thickness is not too thin in order to provide the appropriate strength which is necessary to handle fl the process. For example, the PET film desirably has the - thickness of 0.05 mm or more. ~
FIG. 5 schematically shows the automatic machine which = performs bonding. -
A complex of the touch sensor panel 11 and the decorative ~ cover glass 12 is adsorbed and fixed to an adsorber stage 30. =
An adsorber stage 31 and a roller 32 which have adsorbed - the double-sided tape with the separator 1 are disposed - opposing to the fixed touch sensor panel 11.
Not only the double-sided tape portion 2 of the hollow square shape but also the strong-peel separator/protection film 3 of the planar shape are provided, so that the double-sided tape with the separator 1 is easily adsorbed by the adsorber stage 31. Further, the strength is provided as described above, so that it is possible to easily perform positioning of the double-sided tape with the separator 1.
In this regard, the adsorber stage 31 adsorbs and holds the double-sided tape with the separator 1 by a weak adsorption force compared to the adsorber stage 30.
A mechanism which is not shown causes the roller 32 and the adsorber stage 31 to integrally travel in an arrow P direction. In this case, the roller 32 travels in the arrow
P direction while pressing against the touch sensor panel 11 the double-sided tape with the separator 1 positioned and drawn from the adsorber stage 31.
This automatic machine can stably bond the double-sided tape with the separator 1 to the plane of the touch sensor panel 11.
Subsequently, in process S3 in FIG. 3A, a peel tab 5 is adhered.
EEE ———————————————— eee
FIG. 2C shows a state where the double-sided tape with °° the separator 1 is bonded to the touch sensor panel 11, and then the peel tab 5 is adhered.
The peel tab 5 is adhered to an end portion of the i» strong-peel separator/protection film 3. =
This peel tab 5 is used to peel the strong-peel =” separator/protection film 3 later, and can be provided in an — appropriate arrangement for the function of this peel tab 5. ©
In this regard, the step of attaching the peel tab 5 may ” be performed before the double-sided tape with the separator - 1 is bonded to the touch sensor panel 11, for example.
Further, a portion which functions as the peel tab 5 may be integrally formed in advance with the strong-peel separator/protection film 3. In this case, the peel tab attaching step is unnecessary.
According to the above manufacturing process, the panel body 10 in the state in FIG. 2C is manufactured.
For example, the panel body 10 in FIG. 2C is manufactured by the primary manufacturing company and is delivered to the secondary manufacturing company. In this case, the strong-peel separator/protection film 3 reliably protects the bonding surface side of the double-sided tape portion 2 of the touch sensor panel 11.
FIG. 3B shows the process at the side of the secondary manufacturing company.
The secondary manufacturing company inspects the delivered panel body 10 in process S10 in FIG. 3B. For example, whether or not the double-sided tape portion 2 is appropriately bonded to the touch sensor panel 11 is inspected, or stains and scratches of this bonding surface are inspected.
Subsequently, in process S11 in FIG. 3B, the strong-peel separator/protection film 3 is peeled. In this case, the peel
EE EE ————————————eer——————__ ov tab 5 can be used to peel the strong-peel separator/protection film 3.FIG. 2D shows the panel body 10 in a state where the = strong-peel separator/protection film 3 is peeled. The o adhesive surface is exposed from the double-sided tape portion B 2 in this state. b=
Subsequently, in process S12 in FIG. 3B, the panel body - is fixed to a predetermined device. That is, the adhesive ~ surface of the double-sided tape portion 2 is pressed against & and fixed to the device. > 10 Thus, the step of attaching the panel body 10 to the - predetermined device can be finished.
As described above, the method for manufacturing panel body 10 described as the embodiment includes a step (Sl) of peeling the weak-peel separator 4 from the double-sided tape with the separator 1; and a step (S2) of bonding one adhesive surface of the double-sided tape portion 2 along the periphery of the plane of the bonding destination touch sensor panel 11 (panel portion). The double-sided tape portion 2 has a rim portion circling shape going along the entirety of the periphery of the plane of the bonding destination touch sensor panel 11 (panel portion). Further, the double-sided tape portion 2 has the strong-peel separator/protection film 3 as the sheet body bonded to the other adhesive surface of the double-sided tape portion 2. The strong-peel separator/protection film 3 has the planar shape which can cover the entire (or almost entire) plane of the panel portion, and functions as the strong-peel separatorwhich indicates a higher peeling strength than that of the weak-peel separator 4,
In this case, the double-sided tape portion 2 has the hollow square shape, and the strong-peel separator/protection film 3 has the size which covers the entire plane of the touch
EEE ————————————— eee . sensor panel 11 and canhave the rectangular shape.
Consequently, the double-sided tape with the separator 1 can o maintain at least the planar shape of the area having the substantially same size as the plane of the panel portion. ~
Consequently, the strength of the double-sided tape with = the separator 1 is not weak unlike the sheet of the hollow ~ square shape, and can be easily handled in a stable planar ~ shape, so that operability improves.Hence, when the © double-sided tape with the separator 1 is bonded to the touch > sensor panel 11 (panel portion), the double-sided tape with - the separator 1 is easily positioned and bonded with respect to the plane of the touch sensor panel 11 and is stably positioned.
Particularly, an increase in the strength of the double-sided tape with the separator 1 enables the automatic machine to perform the bonding operation and is suitable for automation.
Further, because of the double-sided tape with the separator 1 has the planar shape; the double-sided tape 1 can be easily fixed in the positioned state by an adsorber shown in FIG. 5, and enables the automatic machine which uses the adsorber to perform a precise bonding operation.
Furthermore, the strong-peel separator/protection film 3 is the protection film for the touch sensor panel 11, so that it is not necessary to perform the process of bonding an additional protection film and it is possible to make the manufacturing process efficient. The additional protection film is unnecessary, so that it is possible to reduce cost of the protection film.
Further, the strong-peel separator/protection £ilm 3 has the substantially same size as the planar size of the touch sensor panel 11. Consequently, because of the film end
— EE —— ox o portion of the strong-peel separator/protection film 3 does not go around to the front surface side from the end portion o of the touch sensor panel 11, the secondary manufacturing ~ company can easily peel the strong-peel separator/protection 5 film 3. =
Conventionally, because ofa separate protection film 93 ~ is used as in FIGS. 6A and 6B, the protection film 93 which ~ is one planar size larger is used to reliably cover the entire © back surface of the touch sensor panel 11. Therefore, an end > portion of the protection film 93 goes around to the front - surface side of the touch sensor panel 11 and thereby makes the protection film 93 be hardly peeled.
In the embodiment, the strong-peel separator/protection film 3 bonded to the adhesive surface of the double-sided tape portion 2 is used, and the double-sided tape portion 2 is positioned and is bonded to the plane of the touch sensor panel 11. In this state, the strong-peel separator/protection film 3 reliably protects the back surface of the touch sensor panel 11.
That is, it is not necessary to use a film which is one size larger for protection. Therefore, the film end portion does not go around to the front surface of the touch sensor panel 11.
The manufacturing method according to the embodiment includes a step (S3) of attaching the peel tab 5 (a tab for peeling) to the strong-peel separator/protection film 3 (sheet body).
By including the step (S3), the strong-peel separator/protection film 3 of the panel body 10 can be easily peeled by using the peel tab 5.
Consequently, a purchaser side (for example, the secondary manufacturing company) of the panel body 10 can
EEE —————————————rr— eo ho easily peel the strong-peel separator/protection film 3 and fix the touch sensor panel 11 (panel portion) to a = predetermined position. o
In this regard, the portion corresponding to the peel tab 5 may be integrally formed with the strong-peel = separator/protection film 3 in advance as described above. -
In this case, the step (S3) is unnecessary, so that it is _ possible to make the panel manufacturing process at the & primary manufacturing company side more efficient. >
The panel body 10 according to the embodiment includes o the touch sensor panel 11 (panel portion), the double-sided tape portion 2 of the rim portion circling shape with one adhesive surface (a first adhesive surface) bonded along the entirety of the periphery of the plane of the touch sensor panel 11, and the strong-peel separator/protection film 3 (sheet body) which is bonded to the other adhesive surface (a second adhesive surface) of the double-sided tape portion 2 covering the entire (or almost entire) plane of the touch sensor panel 11 to which the double-sided tape portion 2 is bonded.
The panel body 10 can be easily manufactured by using the double-sided tape portion 2 of the rim portion circling shape such as the hollow square shape along the periphery of the plane of the panel portion.
The strong-peel separator/protection film 3 which is the sheet body functions as a separator and as a protection film.
Therefore, the panel body 10 including the strong-peel separator/protection film 3 is appropriate as a shipping state.
The purchaser (for example, secondary manufacturing company) of this panel body 10 can fix the panel body 10 to the predetermined position by simply peeling the strong-peel
EE —— — —————————————— reer separator/protection film 3 (see FIG. 3B). Conventionally, o while it has been necessary to peel a protection film 93 and rs further peel a separator 92 (see FIG. 6A), the peeling step — of the embodiment is made very efficient. -
In the panel body 10 according to the embodiment, the ® strong-peel separator/protection film 3 which is the sheet po body is transparent or semi-transparent. The strong-peel - separator/protection film 3 is transparent or = semi-transparent, so that it is possible to visually check = the plane of the touch sensor panel 11 from the side of the strong-peel separator/protection film 3.
Consequently, after the panel body 10 is delivered, the purchaser (for example, the secondary manufacturing company) can visually check the panel body 10 without peeling the strong-peel separator/protection film 3 (refer to S10 in FIG. 3B).
The embodiment has been described above. However, the above embodiment is an exemplary embodiment.
The panel body 10 and the double-sided tape portion 2 of the panel body 10 may have various shapes.
For example, planes of a triangular panel, a polygonal panel, a circular panel, an elliptical panel or an amorphous panel are assumed. The double-sided tape portion 2 is assumed to have a rim portion circling shape going along the entirety of the periphery of these shapes illustrated above. For example, an annular triangular shape, an annular polygonal shape, an annular circular shape, an annular elliptical shape or an annular amorphous shape are assumed as the rim portion circling shape.
Further, there may be various specific products of the panel body 10 in addition to touch sensor panels.

SUMMARY OF INVENTION on
TECHNICAL PROBLEM -
The following problems occur during manufacturing of the above panel body.
First, the problem during manufacturing of the panel body in the primary manufacturing company will be described. A step of bonding the double-sided tape 91 to the touch sensor panel 100 requires work.
That is, because of the strength of the double-sided tape 91 of the hollow square shape (window frame shape) is weak, an automatic machine has difficulty in bonding the double-sided tape 91. Hence, an operator needs to manually bond the double-sided tape 91 to a back surface of the touch sensor panel 100 by using a positioning jig, and therefore efficiency is very low.
Further, because of the step of bonding the double-sided tape 91 to the touch sensor panel 100 is a hand working step by the operator, a precision for bonding is unstable, and product quality is not stable, either.
Furthermore, a step of bonding the protection film 93 is necessary after the double-sided tape 91 is bonded, and therefore, manufacturing efficiency of the product is low.
Still further, the secondary manufacturing company has the following problem.
The secondary manufacturing company needs to take a process of peeling the protection film 93 and peeling the f separator 92. A peeling work needs to be performed twice, and ~ therefore process efficiencyof the product is low. ~
Further, the planar area ofthe protection film 93 is one = size larger than that of the touch sensor panel 100. Therefore, i an end portion ofthe planar area of the protection film 93 ~ usually sticks to a front surface sideof the touch sensor panel = 100 by going around an end portion of the touch sensor panel 100. Hence, it is very bothersome to peel the protection film - 93.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to propose a method for manufacturing a panel body which solves these problems, and a structure of the panel body.
SOLUTION TO PROBLEM
The invention according to a first aspect is a method for manufacturing a panel body by using a double-sided tape with a separator, including: peeling a weak-peel separator from the double-sided tape; and bonding a first adhesive surface of a double-sided tape portion along a periphery of a plane of a panel portion; wherein the double-sided tape including: the double-sided tape portion of a rim portion circling shape which can cover a entirety of the periphery 26 of the plane of the panel portion which is a bonding destination, the weak-peel separator bonded to the first adhesive surface of the double-sided tape portion, and a sheet body bonded to a second adhesive surface of the double-sided tape portion, and wherein the sheet body is formed in a planar shape which can cover the plane of the panel portion, and functions as a strong-peel separator indicates a higher peeling strength than that of the weak-peel separator.
.
In this case, the double-sided tape portion of the rim - portion circling shape has a hollow square shape along the =o periphery of the plane of the panel portion such as a square touch sensor panel. For example, one adhesive surface (a first adhesive surface) of the double-sided tape of this hollow = square shape is peeled from the weak-peel separator, and then - is bonded to the plane of the panel portion. When the panel ~ portion is bonded, for example, the sheet body bonded to the ® other adhesive surface (a second adhesive surface) is formed n in a rectangular shape having the size which can cover the o plane of the panel portion. Consequently, the double-sided tape with the separator maintains a planar shape of an area having the substantially same size as at least the plane of the panel portion and, consequently, can be easily handled. : 15 The above manufacturing method may include attaching a peel tab to the sheet body.
Consequently, the sheet body of the panel body to be manufactured by the method can be easily peeled by using the peel tab.
The invention according to a second aspect is a panel body, including: a panel portion; a double-sided tape portion of a rimportion circling shape having a first adhesive surface bonded to a entirety of a periphery of a plane of a panel portion and a second adhesive surface; and a sheet body which is covering the plane of the panel portion bonded the double-sided tape portion and is bonded to the second adhesive surface of the double-sided tape portion, wherein the sheet body functions as both of a separator function of the double-sided tape portion and a protecting function of the panel portion.
That is, the panel body allows the double-sided tape portion to be easily bonded to the panel portion by using the
EE ———— ——— error. hot double-sided tape portion of the rim portion circling shape - such as the hollow square shape along the periphery of the = plane of the panel portion.
The sheet body functions as a separator and a protection = film, and therefore, the panel body is appropriate as a = shipping state. -
In the above panel body, the sheet body may be transparent i. or semitransparent. ©
By making the sheet body which functions as the separator ’ and the protection film transparent and semi transparent, it is possible to visually check the plane of the panel portion from the sheet body side.
ADVANTAGEOUS EFFECTS OF INVENTION
According to the present invention, the double-sided tape with the separator including the adhesive surface of the rim portion circling shape such as the hollow square shape has the high strength, and consequently can be easily handled for the primary manufacturing company. Further, the sheet body can function as the separator and the protection film. Thus, according to the double-sided tape with the separator and the sheet body, the manufacturing process is simplified and becomes efficient.
Further, the peeling steps to peel the separator 92 and the protection film 93 are simplified at the secondary manufacturing company because all they need to do is peel the sheet body instead of the peeling steps. Consequently, the manufacturing process can also be improved efficiently at the secondary manufacturing company.
