Abstract
Provided is a steel plate for a container, which has exceptional corrosion resistance subsequent to film application, and corrosion resistance subsequent to coating. This steel plate for a container has: a plated steel plate which is a steel plate having on at least one surface thereof a plated layer containing Sn; and a coating film arranged on the surface of the plated layer side of the plated steel plate. The coating layer contains Ti. In preferred practice, the deposited amount, converted to Ti, per each surface of the plated steel plate is at least 1.0 mg/m2 but less than 60.0 g/m2, the value of A, defined by a specific equation (1), is 30 or less, the atomic ratio of F and Ti (F/Ti) at the outermost surface of the coating film is more than 0.00 but less than 0.10, and the state ratio of O (OH/MO) within the coating film is less than 0.70.
