Co SPECIFICATION Cs Y
Crank Operated Tough Puller Device Co
This invention relates to a puller device particularly to a crank operated tough puller device that easily removes and pull stock solid bar in an object.
In mechanical repair work, broken studs and the like are mostly hard to remove and replaced with a new object due to lack of tools and devices that can pulled out on such object.
For instance, U.S Patent No. 4,449,615 to McDonald Elevator with Beath,
Robert W and McDonald, John R. on May 22, 1984 discloses a complete puller tool for pulling gears, battery terminals, pilot bearings, wheel hubs, tie rods, steering wheels, harmonic balancer, and pitman arms. The tool includes a yoke having four arms, each of which has an open-ended slot and a pin hole at the end of each arm.
An arm pin in each arm provides a jaw member stop surface for large gripping diameter pulling applications, and alternatively attaches the jaw member directly to the yoke arm for small gripping diameter applications. Said puller tool however, can only accommodate pulling application to an object having a flange or neck attachment of the said object to be pulled out as said puller tool having jaw member stop surface for gripping process.
In this view, the crank operated tough puller corresponding to the present invention significantly upgrade the conventional means of the prior art, and in responding to, provides a puller intended for non-flange studs or stock object directly on its stem or body of the said broken studs or bars.
Attaining such provision, the present invention devised herein improved the : disadvantages revealed in the said prior art and providing a crank operated tough puller for pulling or removing stock studs or bars on an object having longitudinal stem and less flange. Said crank operated tough puller comprises a locking keys having corresponding tooth along the edges for gripping an object to be pulled-out and
- securely held within the sliding inner hub, Said locking keys are positioned in three equilateral segments within the said sliding inner hub for effective gripping mechanism.
During operation or pulling process of stock studs or bar, the device is first positioned within the stock studs or bar to be pulled and plurality of locking keys are securely placed at three equilateral segment of the said device making sure the said locking keys are lock preventing misalignment between the stock stud and the sliding inner hub. Said locking mechanism is securely held, a wrench will slowly rotate the driver hub driving the crank-hub mechanism which slowly screwed and slides-up the sliding inner hub pulling the stock studs or bar up out of the object.
In the drawing, Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the device of this invention.
Fig. 2 is the side elevation view of the crank operated tough puller device showing sectional view of rotating crank-like puller hub, the hub holder and holder stand.
The crank operated tough puller device of the present invention indicated generally at 10 shown in Fig. 1 consists mainly of machined sliding inner hub unit 12 made from hard steel alloy having outer thread 27 with outer guide groove 38 and a subsequent inner diameter wherein plurality of locking keys 30 securely placed along the inner guide groove 36 positioned in three equilateral segment. A crank-like rotating puller hub 16 similarly made of hard steel alloy, driven by smaller rotating driver hub 18 enclosed within hub cover 20 supported with hub holder 22 and holder stand 24 comprising crank puller hub unit 14.
The rotating crank puller hub unit 14 screwed-up the sliding inner hub unit 12 within the threaded section 27 having engages along the threaded section 37 of the crank puller hub unit 14. The said sliding inner hub unit 12 slides up and down of the said crank puller hub unit 14 pulling up and removing out stock studs or bar through plurality of locking keys 30 having plurality of tooth 32 along the edges of said locking keys 30. The effective pulling and removal of stock studs and bar alike is held securely by plurality of locking keys 30 having plurality of tooth 32 which prevent the stock studs or bar of collapsing within the said locking keys 30 having positioned in three ee © equilateral segments of said sliding inner hub unit 12 thereby ensuring the locking means during the pulling or removing operation of the said stock studs or bar.
During operation or pulling process of stock studs or bar, the crank puller hub unit 14 is first positioned within the stock studs or bar to be pulled-out and plurality of locking keys 30abc are securely placed with posterior section 34 of said locking keys 30 at three equilateral segments 36abc of the said sliding inner hub unit 12 making sure the said locking keys 30abc are lock firmly preventing misalignment between the stock studs or bar and the sliding inner hub 12. Said locking mechanism is securely held, a wrench will slowly rotate the driver hub 18 driving the crank-puller hub 16 mechanism which slowly screwed-up the sliding inner hub unit 12 pulling the stock studs or bar up out of the object. Crank puller hub guide 28ab permanently fixed at hub holder 22b and 22c, assist the sliding inner hub unit 12 up with sliding inner hub guide 38ab preventing the said sliding inner hub unit 12 of rotating with the crank puller hub unit 14.
The smooth rotary movement of the crank puller hub unit 14 is safely held with hub holder 22a along the plane axis and said crank puller hub unit 14 and said hub holder 22a is securely enclosed with crank puller hub unit cover 20 as shown in Fig. 2. The said crank puller hub unit cover 20 is machined made of special metallic alloy having locking flange along its edges thereby securing firmly the crank puller hub 16, the driving hub 18 and the hub holder 22a without compromising gear backlash between crank puller hub 16 and driver hub 18.
While the invention has been described in terms of preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that the invention is not limited thereto. To the contrary, it is intended to cover various modifications and similar arrangements and procedures, and the scope of the appended claims therefore should be accorded the broadest interpretation so as to encompass all such modification and similar arrangements and procedures.
