SE REFIERE A UN METODO PIROMETALURGICO DE CONVERSION CONTINUA DE MATA DE COBRE, QUE HACE USO DE UN FLUJO DE MATA LIQUIDA GRAVITACIONAL A TRAVES DE DOS REACTORES CONECTADOS EN SERIE POR UN CANAL, EN DONDE LA OXIDACION Y LA ESCORIFICACION DEL HIERRO DE LA MATA DE COBRE SE EFECTUA EN EL PRIMER REACTOR SEGUIDA POR OXIDACION DEL SULFURO DE COBRE Y FORMACION DEL BLISTER EN EL SEGUNDO REACTOR. DICHOS REACTORES TIENEN UNA CAMARA REFRACTARIA PARA CONTENER DICHA MATA, EN DONDE DICHA CAMARA REFRACTARIA CONTIENE UN LECHO EMPACADO DE GRANOS CERAMICOS U OTROS GRANOS QUIMICAMENTE NEUTROS, PERMITIENDO QUE DICHA MATA SE DISPERSE Y FLUYA GRAVITACIONALMENTE A TRAVES DE DICHO LECHO EMPACADO
