Abstract

A crate is disclosed comprising a bottom, two end walls and two side walls (108). At least one of the side walls (108) haws a plurality of inlets (200) for introducing a cooling liquid and a plurality of vent holes (110). The inlets (200) are larger than the vent holes (110). Each side wall (108) comprises a continuous stiffening member (116) extending parallel to the lateral edges and parallel to the upper edge. A first of the inlets (200a) is provided to the left of the side wall and below the continuous stiffening portion (116) and a second of the inlets is provided to the right. The crate has particular use in hydro-cooling as the larger inlets (200) are not blocked by ice allowing the cooling water to freely flow into the container.
