Abstract

591540 A mobile adjustable stairway is disclosed which includes a first frame section (11) adapted to be mobile with fixed steps (15), a second frame section (22) moveably coupled to the first frame section (11) and one or more floating steps (25). Engagement means (29) include at least one pair of spaced apart abutments positioned to engage with a floating step (25). In operation the floating steps (25) are progressively raised and lowered as the stairway is moved between extended and compacted forms.
