Abstract
Disclosed is a method of exposure control in a camera using a metering system. Initially, an image scene is divided into a plurality of regions (16) such as square grids (17). Then, the brightness of each of these regions is measured. The user then selects certain of these regions to configure the exposure of the image scene. In the case of the drawing, this method will allow the user to avoid the issues resulting from the unusually high brightness of a certain region in the picture.
