Abstract

An AC/DC rechargeable mobile phone battery includes plug contacts 34, 35 that can be plugged into a mains outlet. The plug contacts are attached to a mounting 31 that pivots on pivots 32, 33. This allows the plug contacts to be retracted by rotating the contacts downwards. When the contacts are extended as shown, terminals on the rear face of the mounting 31 contact terminals 51, 52 which connect with a charging circuit 50. When the plug contacts 34, 35 are retracted, the plug terminals are out of contact with terminals 51, 52.
