Abstract

The encased, dispersed gas phase sensitized, water-in-oil type explosive emulsion comprises ammonium nitrate, sodium nitrate, water, hydrocarbon fuel, emulsifier and aluminum. The encased, dispersed gas phase sensitized, water-in-oil type explosive emulsion comprises (wt.%): 60-70 ammonium nitrate; 8-14 sodium nitrate; 4-7 water; 0.5-5 hydrocarbon fuel; 0.5-5 emulsifier; and 12-18 aluminum; the sum of ammonium nitrate and sodium nitrate being 70-80% and the sum of ammonium nitrate, sodium nitrate, water, hydrocarbon fuel, emulsifier and aluminum being 95-100%.
