Abstract

For å samle olje eller andre materialer som flyter på overflaten av et vannlegeme er et oppsamlingskar (11) med et oppsamlingskammer (A) neddykket i vannet. Et over- flatelag som fører materialet som skal samles er bevirket å strømme fra området rundt oppsamlingskammeret inn i oppsamlingskammeret (A) over en vertikalt beveg- bar oppsamlingsoverløpskant (15A) på oppsamlingskaret. Vann er sluppet ut fra det nedre partiet av oppsamlingskammeret, slik at et væskenivå lavere enn det til det omgivende vannet er opprettholdt i oppsamlingskammeret (A). Flytende materiale akkumulert på væskeoverflaten i oppsamlingskammeret er fjernet; hvis materialet som skal samles er lav-viskositetsolje, er et oljeabsorberende legeme (22) laget av et hydrofobisk materiale benyttet for å absorbere den akkumulerte oljen fra væskeover- flaten i oppsamlingskammeret. En vibrasjonsdempningsanordning (28-30) demper vertikale oscillasjoner av oppsamlerens overløpskant (15).
