Abstract

I OFDM-system er frekvensdomenedata Fourier-trans- formeringen av de mottatte OFDM-rammene i tidsdomenet. Tidsdomenerammene må samples, ved mottakeren, i synkroni- sering med senderen, slik at hver mottatt ramme inneholder data fra kun en eneste sendt ramme. Det er absolutt nød- vendig at denne synkronisering opprettholdes for å opprett- holde ortogonaliteten for rammene. Et typisk mulitbærersystem av typen OFDM, som anvender et syklisk prefiks, tillater at ortogonalitet opprettholdes når det finnes et lite avvik fra eksakt rammesynkroniser- ing. Ettersom signalintervallet inkluderer både en hel ramme og et syklisk prefiks, som er en repetering av en del av rammen, vil en ramme som samples innen signalintervallet inneholde data fra kun en ramme. Ettersom signalintervallet er større enn rammeperioden, gir dette et visst spillerom med hensyn til rammeinnstilling. I multibærersystem av OFDM-typen anvendes ofte en adaptiv kanalutjevner som arbeider i frekvensdomenet. De interne parametrene i en slik utjevner inneholder, foruten informasjon om karakteristikk for kanalen, informasjon som kan tolkes som tidsawiket mellom samplingsklokkene for senderen og mottakeren. Den foreliggende oppfinnelse anvender denne informasjon for å styre samplingsklokken hos mottakeren på et mer robust vis enn det som tidligere har vært mulig med kjente teknikker. Den foreliggende oppfinnelse er spesielt anvendelig for anvendelse i ADSL- og VDSL-modem som kan anvendes for å gi bredbåndsaksess over nettverk av kopper. Oppfinnelsen er også relevant til bredbåndsoverføring i mobile og halv- mobile system for overføring på radiokanaler.
