Abstract

Et billeddannende ultralyddiagnosesystem utfører volumstrømmålinger i hjertet og blod-kar i kroppen. Brukeren plasserer en markør (1) over det område av et fremvist kar (70) hvor strømningsmåling skal utføres. Markøren reguleres for å angi retningen av blodstrømningen og diameteren av karet på målestedet. Markøren avgrenser også et stikkprøvevolum hvor Doppler-hastighetsmålinger utføres. Hastighetsmålingene og kardiameteren brukes for å beregne karets tverrsnittsareal og volumstrømmen av blod på målestedet. I en foretrukket utførelsesform ettersporer markøren kontinuerlig og automatisk karveggene (72,74) selv i nærværet av karpulsering og bevegelse av ultralydsonden.
