Et billeddannende ultralyddiagnose-system for måling av volumet av et kammer (102) i hjertet (100) eller et annet organ eller kar. En ultralydtransdusersonde (10) brukes for å avsøke kammeret med flere avsøkningsplan (120) som er adskilt i rommet. Kammervolumets billedelementer for hvert avsøkningsplan samles inn for å gi et mål på volumet, l en foretrukket utførelsesform utvikles kammervolumets billedelementer ut fra Doppler-signaler fra fluidet inne i kammeret og henføres til volumelementer inne i kammeret ved å veie billedelementene i avsøkningsplanene i samsvar med volumelementprøvetagningen gitt ved adskillelsen mellom planene.
