Abstract

Det beskrives et eksopolysakkarid-nedbrytende enzym og enzymatiske materialer som er i stand til å nedbryte eksopolysakkarider, og nærmere bestemt reduksjon eller fjerning av biofilm på overflater og for å hindre dannelse av biofilm på slik overflater. Nærmere bestemt vedrører oppfinnelsen anvendelse av enzymet og/eller det enzy- matiske materiale omfattende minst ett eksopolysakkarid- nebrytende enzym for reduksjon, fjerning og/eller hindring av biofilm på overflater i vandige systemer (vannbærende systemer, fluid-systemer). Det beskrives i tillegg en bakteriell stamme som produserer et eksopolysakkarid- nedbrytende enzym, og det eksopolysakkarid-nedbrytende enzym fremstilt fra en ny, isolert stamme av Streptomyces. Fortrinnsvis er det eksopolysakkarid-nedbrytende enzym ifølge foreliggende oppfinnelse et kolanisk syre-nedbryt- ende enzym.
