Abstract
En prosess for fjerning av en eller flere forurensninger fra titanholdig materiale som inneholder forurensningene i en form som er lett løselig i syre. Materialet blir utvasket med henholdsvis en svovelsyre-løsning og med en saltsyreløsning i en hvilken som helst rekkefølge. For å øke forurensningenes mottagelighet for utvasking, blir saltsyreløsningen øket ved en eller flere av følgende: (i) tilsetning av en effektiv mengde av et tilsatt kloridsalt, (ii) forbehandling av det titanhold- ige materialet med en løsning av en effek- tiv mengde av et karbonatsalt, fortrinns- vis et alkalimetall- eller jordalkali- metallkarbonat og/eller (iii) forbehandling av det titanhold- ige materialet med en løsning av en effek- tiv mengde av et hydroksid, fortrinnsvis et alkalimetall- eller jordalkalimetall- hydroksid, hvorved tilbøyeligheten til fjerning av forurensningene økes.A process for removing one or more contaminants from titanium containing material containing the contaminants in a form which is readily soluble in acid. The material is washed out with a sulfuric acid solution and with a hydrochloric acid solution in any order, respectively. To increase the contamination susceptibility to leaching, the hydrochloric acid solution is increased by one or more of the following: (i) adding an effective amount of an added chloride salt, (ii) pretreating the titanium-containing material with a solution of an effective amount of a carbonate salt, preferably an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal carbonate and / or (iii) pretreatment of the titanium-containing material with a solution of an effective amount of a hydroxide, preferably an alkali metal or alkaline earth metal hydroxide, whereby the propensity to remove the pollutants is increased.
