Abstract
Det er beskrevet en fremgangsmåte for oppvarming av en smelte inneholdende et oksyderbart stoff, hvori et brennstoff brennes med et oksydasjonsmiddel ved at det sendes ut brennstof f-oksydas;)onsmiddelstråler over smetlen. Brennstoff- og oksydasjonsmlddelstrålene har henholdsvis et brennstoffstrålemoment og et oksyda- sjonsmiddelstrålemoment. Oksydasjonsmiddelstrålen produserer et toppoksydasjonslag på toppoverflaten av smelten og et slikt toppoksydasjonslag har en tykkelse.. Oksydasjonsmiddelstrålemomentet reguleres slik at det er under et terskelmoment hvorved toppoksydasjonslaget tvinges til side av oksydasjonsmiddelstrålen for å eksponere ny smelte som potensielt kan oksyderes og kan øke tykkelsen av toppoksydasjonslaget. Brennstoff- strålemomentet reguleres slik at det er større enn oksydasjonsmiddelstrålemomentet for å trekke oksyda- sjonsmiddelstrålen mot brennstoffstrålen og derved danne en ønsket forbrennbar blanding i et blandelag. I tillegg kan oksydasjonsmiddel- og brennstoffstråle- momentene reguleres slik at deres samlede moment (summen av deres individuelle momenter dividert med effektutbyttet utviklet av brenneren av brennstoffet) er mindre enn ca. 60 newton pr. megawatt.
