Abstract

I et datapakket nett blir pakker overført fra inn-porter (1, 3) til utporter (1, 3) og overføringen av. pakker fra en innport til en utport kan kreve tids-perioder av forskjellige lengder, f.eks. på grunn av i det forhold at datapakkene ved deres transport i nettet passerer gjennom enheter (5) der de blir. i underkastet prosessering. I hver innport i nettet blir det etablert en liste (9) over aktuelle kombi-i nasjoner av par av kilder og destinasjoner for de. datapakker som har ankommet til innporten. Listen omfatter også det aktuelle sekvensielle nummer (NSexp) for datapakker med denne kombinasjon. Listen er innskrenket eller begrenset slik at den bare vil omfatte et lite antall av opptegninger. Når en data-. i pakke blir mottatt av en innport, vil kombinasjonen av en kildeadresse og en destinasjonsadresse som. ikke allerede befinner seg i listen, vil i denne. ; liste (9) den opptegning bli overskrevet som har. vært inaktiv under den lengste tidsperiode og det tilsvarende sekvensielle nummer (NSexp) blir derved slettet. Når deretter en melding med den samme kombinasjon av en kildeadresse og en destinasjonsadresse på nytt ankommer, vil det sekvensielle nummer (NSexp) bli restartet på samme tid som et flagg (R) blir satt i pakken, hvilket indikerer gjenoppstart-ingen. Videre, fra denne liste vil de opptegninger bli fjernet som har vært inaktive under en eller annen forhåndsbestemt tidsperiode. I utporten finnes i det også en lignende liste (19) og denne er også redusert for å unngå lange søketider. Dersom en opptegning i listen (19) i en utport har vært inaktiv tilstrekkelig lenge, kan den åpenbart fjernes fra listen (19), fordi den tilsvarende opptegning da er allerede fjernet fra listen (9) i innporten.
