Elektrokjemisk aktor med et lukket gassrom er forsynt med flere celler (7). av hvilke celler hver Inneholder en fastlegemselektrode (16) av et elektrokjemisk reverserbart oksyderbart stoff og en motelektrode (18). Det bevlrkes en trykkoppbygnlng eller trykknedbygnlng, som omsettes l en bevegelse, l gassrommet ved hjelp av en reverserbar, av en likestrøm, frembragt elektrok- jemisk reaksjonsforløp. For å tilveiebringe en forenklet og billig fremstilling såvel som en forbed- ring av funksjonen er det sørget for at hver celle (7) er forsynt med en stabelbar, rammeformet avstandsholder (12) av et elektrisk Isolerende, godt varmeledende materiale, som Innbefatter kanten (14) til et metallisk cellebeger (13) l hvilket er anordnet en med en elektrolytt Impregnerende matrise (15) såvel som festlegemselektroden (16), en separator (17) og motelektroden (18).
