Oppfinnelsen vedrører nye enzymer. Nærmere bestemt tilveiebringer oppfin- nelsen nye xylanaser som lar seg er- holde fra stammer som tilhører slekten Rhodothermus. Oppfinnelsen vedrører også anvendelsen av xylanasene ved behandling av lignocellulosetremasse.
